Welcome
to The Woods
Come and get away from it all in the stunning West Kootenays. Relax on a private 15 acre retreat situated on a mountainside just off just off Highway 3A & 6 part of the breathtaking Selkirk Loop, but secluded enough to take you away from it all. The Woods is an ideal place for you and your family to kick back and unwind while having easy access to the eclectic town of Nelson.

We are grateful that The Woods is privately positioned with no neighbours in sight, but you can hear the sounds of hummingbirds in your backyard and catch an occasional glimpse of roaming elk, deer and even turkeys. A stunning walk through the forest takes you to a secluded beach on the shores of Kootenay Lake. It's simply breathtaking.

Looking for a break from the office? Venture to The Woods to work remotely and take a reprieve from the daily grind. This property offers peace and tranquility.

In the summer you can enjoy a swim in the lake, or float your inner tube down the Slocan River. For those more adventurous there's kayaking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, zip lining and more just outside your door. In the fall you have your choice of rivers to drop in a fly and enjoy the flyfishing that British Columbia is famous for. In the winter, Whitewater Ski Resort is 20 minutes away or Red Mountain less than an hour away. Heli-Skiing and Cat-skiing are also locally available. There are multiple nordic ski trails to choose from and endless trails for snowshoeing. Hit the slopes for a day skiing and then return back for a soak in the outdoor hot tub.

Thankfully, we are just minutes away from the historic town of Nelson. Nelson boasts great shopping, museums, coffee shops, galleries and a plethora of locally owned restaurants.

The Woods is a wonderful place to escape and get in touch with nature while having access to a bustling mountain town!
Our Story
We love travel and the outdoors. We both adventured extensively as individuals and continued to see the world together. Africa, India, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, South America and Central America have all been destinations. We adore visiting places and especially also meeting new people, exploring cultures, encountering languages and embracing music.

Our biggest adventure of all was realized when our daughter, joined our family. We are exceptionally grateful to have traveled with her as well. When she started school it was time to find our home base - and boy oh boy did we ever!

Simply put, we fell in love with this land. The Woods is truly inspiring.

The forest, towering trees, copious water and potential to foster a wholistic life brought us here from our previous home in Calgary. We can't wait to share it with you!

Having traveled extensively as a couple and then as a family, we have a deep understanding of what makes a relaxing and unique experience - for all ages. We are here to assist with anything you need but will also respect your space and desire for privacy.
